When Did You First Really Start to Enjoy Taking a Bath?
I’ve been a lover of the bathtub since I was child. My parents literally had to pull me out of the tub all the time. As I got older, people made fun of me for my love of baths. “It’s just bathing in dirty water.” But I still don’t take baths just to get clean. I take baths for all sorts of other reasons. Most often, I take a hemp bath to unwind and recalibrate. Sometimes, though, I’m looking to energize myself. And on other days, I’m looking for healing.
“There must be quite a few things that a hot bath won’t cure, but I don’t know many of them.
Sylvia Plath
It’s More Than a Bath…
When I was growing up and my mom would get home from work, the first thing she’d do is take a bath. I’d follow her into the bathroom, sit on the toilet, and she would tell me about her day. Some days we would laugh. And some days we’d cry. But whatever she was going through, the bathtub became a symbol of tranquility for us. It was a sacred place for my mom and me. To this day, if I don’t feel well, I draw a bath. And now the addition of hemp bath products have taken bathing to a completely different level for me. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a bad day mentally or physically. For me, taking a bath cures a multitude of ills.
Favorite Bathtub?
The copper bathtub at Soho House in Amsterdam. First, it has an incredible view, overlooking the picturesque canals. Plus, copper tubs retain heat better than porcelain. That means my baths last way longer.
Do You Remember Bath Oil Beads?!
OMG, yes! When I was a kid, I’d take my moms and just pop all of them under water. I loved the fancy ones that were shaped like seashells, those were always the hardest to pop. They did stick to the tub. So that was pretty annoying for my parents who would find remnants of popped bath beads. Now there’s a product idea! I wish someone would make CBD bath oil beads….
Favorite Iconic Bathtub Moment?
There’s so many! I have to say, there’s a scene in Paris When It Sizzles where Audrey Hepburn bathes in a seashell tub. I don’t mean it was just shaped like a seashell. I mean that the entire bathtub was covered in seashells. I doubt it was comfortable. But it still made for an iconic scene.
Fill In the Blank—Easiest Way to Screw up a Good Bath Is ___________.
Lighting! There’s nothing worse than getting jazzed to run a bath and it being too light or too dark. Bright lighting totally ruins my vibe when I take a bath. I shut off all the lights except for one. Then I light a gorgeously scented candle.

For me, the water has to be piping hot. There’s nothing worse than a lukewarm bath. I run the water first, fill the bathtub halfway. Then I add the CBD product that will give me what I need that day. Before I hop in, I dry brush my entire body. That helps with detox because it cleanses your lymphatic system. And, bonus, it’s also a great way to fend off cellulite.
Fave Product for a Relaxing Hemp Bath?
For a relaxing CBD bath, I sprinkle in Unplugged Essentials Recovery Queen Soak. It has hemp-derived phytocannabinoids. It also smells incredible!
Best Product for an Invigorating CBD Bath?
To energize myself with a bath, I love Lord Jones’ High CBD Formula Bath Salts. They don’t just have CBD. They also include arnica and calendula as well as a blend of Epsom and pink Himalayan salt. They make me feel tingly all over! And the scent is really invigorating, too. It’s a bracing combo of evergreen and citrus.
Which CBD Product Do You Use to Sooth Pain?
When I’m in pain, I’m all about Buena Botanicals bath bombs. They’re full of CBD. And they come in great scents like bergamot, ylang ylang, and black currant pomegranate. I also love that Buena is Black-owned.
What About Bathtub Accessories?
I have a great bath caddy. That’s where I lay out my Le Pipe and a candle. If it’s been a rough day, I’ll have a glass of red wine at the ready, too. If you’re looking for the best bathtub caddy, this is the one I have. I love it because it has a wide, flat surface that holds everything I need. That occasionally even includes an iPad. My other must-have accessory is a good dry brush. If the Swedes didn’t invent dry brushing, they definitely perfected it. The best dry brushes are handcrafted by Iris Handwerk. The bristles are real horsehair. So they’re not too stiff. And they feel great on your skin.
CBD Bath Playlist?
I have 3-year-old twins. So sometimes I need a little extra self-care. If I lock the bathroom door, my husband knows that I’m decompressing with a CBD bath soak, and he’d be wise not to disturb. I’m usually listening to Moby or Massive Attack. If I remember to bring my iPad, I’ll watch Rick and Morty.
We Hear You Know Quite a Bit About Facial Masks—Tell Us Your Secrets!
They always fall off! I have a few problem areas, like dark spots and dull skin. So I like to use facial masks that have a blend of glycolic, tartaric, lactic, and citric acids. Drunk Elephant makes a wonderful face mask that I use once a week for 20 minutes.
How Do You End Your Bathing Ritual?
I always get out of the tub before the water has drained. I hate the feeling of being in an empty bathtub. I’ll usually take a final hit from my pipe, and, voilá, that’s my perfect CBD bath!
